Miss Long Island 2010

Jamie is very involved within her community and believes that recycling can make a difference. She has an associates degree in Criminal Justice/Politcal Science and aspires to become an honorable detective in Suffolk County where she scored top 2% of women that took the exam. Her Platform is Domestic Violence, and to Raise awareness of Suicide. She is a volunteer member for the SPCLI ( Suicide Prevention Center Long Island ) and lives everyday to the fullest. Besides holding the title of Miss Long Island 2010, Jamie is the spokes model for NYC OTB and her interests include: Planning fundraising events, Working out, Music, Dancing, Shopping, Traveling, and Writing. Jamie’s charity work is endless as she worked with Toys for Tots for the last 9 years, Breast Cancer Walks, Beach Clean Ups, Special Olympics, raised $5,000 for a struggling 3-year-old with AML Lukemia, and helped raise $185,000 for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Long Island.

Leanne Pinard

Miss Long Island Teen 2010

Leanne is excited to be Miss Long Island Teen 2010. Leanne has worked very hard on her platform to educate and bring awareness to Long Island and New York about food and latex allergies in children since she was 14. Leanne was diagnosed with a latex allergy when she was 14, and has contributed to this cause ever since. Leanne is a 17-year-old senior attending Commack High School. When she graduates from high school, she plans on double majoring in Applied Mathematics and Actuarial Science, and obtain a minor in Business. She is the president of the Mock Trial Club, and she is also very active in her school’s business department. Leanne is also very active in all types of charitable events and wants to reach out to her peers and show them the natural rewards of helping others. Leanne’s motto is “A smile can travel around the world”, and she lives by it every day.
